Running through the Blues Hills Wetland is Surveyors Creek. The creek is of high ecological significance as it contains remnant plants like the endangered Grey Box Ironbark and a threatened species of large land snail. It is also a fauna and flora corridor linking Mulgoa Nature Reserve to the wetlands.
ESD worked on both the design and the construction of the project. Optimum environmental outcomes were achieved through careful design and detailed documentation. Disruption to the habitat was minimised while wildlife habitats with walking tracks and interpretive signage were created along the creekline.
Important and satisfied stakeholders included the Local Aboriginal Land Council and the NPWS.
