During the construction of the Sydney Olympic Park a small colony of endangered Green and Golden Bell Frogs was discovered. A plan to build an alternative frog habitat was put forward and its execution represents arguably the largest habitat construction project ever undertaken for an endangered species.
ESD was awarded the contract for the replacement habitat construction and devised and implemented innovative ideas like the “frog fence”, a construction that has since been used widely around Australia.
The reward for ESD’s environmental sensitivity and its thoughtful work is the change in the status of the Green and Golden Bell frog from endangered to flourishing.
